Promised a crown when she reaches the eighth square, Alice perseveres through a surreal landscape of characters who pelt her with riddles as well as humorous semantic quibbles, and regale her with memorable poetry, including the oft-quoted "Jabberwocky." This handsome and inexpensive edition of the childhood classic features the original illustrations by Sir John Tenniel.
