Among the more prominent findings in this study are a conspicuous lack of education on hepatitis C and a lack of preparation among correctional systems addressing this healthcare issue among offenders in their correctional systems. There is clear evidence of an overall lack of commitment, in well defined areas, to dealing with hepatitis C; testing and treatment are two such areas. Recommendations to correctional systems to remediate, as well as improve, the management of hepatitis C in this population are also included in this study.
