This book is a compilation of letters written by Sir William Osler to his American colleagues and students when he was in Europe. Each page resembles a typed copy of Osler's letters. Each of the letters contains vignettes from his experiences in Germany, when German medicine was preeminent. Most of Osler's letters deal with various infectious dieseases and their discoverers.
