Thousands of years ago, a war erupted in heaven when three powerful angels, Vyssar, Bassin and Goro attempted to assassinate God. God triumphed and the rebellious angels were cast into the SHADOW REALM. The fallen angels band together and created an opening which allowed Goro to escape. Once free, Goro set about creating an army of evil spirits, Wraiths, in order to shift the world away from God and into shadow in order to free his brothers. The wraith army set about killing good ghosts and whispering to weak minded humans, encouraging them to hideous acts of murder, terror and war. Seven ancient SPIRIT ELDERS enlisted free spirits called GUARDIANS to fight the wraith army. They were losing the war. With Mankind hanging in the balance, a master Guardian emerged, Ikiro. A young Samurai that had the ability to shift between the human and spirit worlds. This power allowed him to fight wraiths, shift and do battle with evil humans in the same breath. The Spirit Elders taught Ikiro how to reincarnate. His spirit was reborn into human form generation after generation. A jealous Guardian, Galien, betrayed Ikiro and murdered him. Ikiro's spirit location, unknown. In his absence, the wraiths slowly took over the world and brought it to the edge of shadow. Then, one day, on a normal scout and attack mission, a young Guardian stumbled upon RYAN, a 18 year old high school student with the ability to shift between human and spirit realms.
