This book provides accurate, decision-making information for someone getting ready to purchase their next vehicle. Once the economics of the situation are analyzed and considered, the choice is even clearer: EVs make sense and make “cents†. Another reason I am writing this book is because I am an engineer – a board-certified environmental engineer (BCEE). This has been a passion of mine since my college days when I stood around a vat of RIT dye making tie die shirts for an upcoming Environmental Club Fundraising event. Then and there I decided to quit the club and focus on the solution rather than just complaining about the world's problems.The data presented in this book is real. The information is gathered from U.S. government research departments, independent agency websites, and various automobile manufacturer websites. Most importantly, we will discuss the actual data from my Chevy Volt including costs for gasoline and electricity over the past 20,000 miles. My hope is that this book will serve as an Electric Vehicle manual or decision-making guide to provide the reader with three main elements: real information to make a sound car-buying decision, actual costs that can be easily calculated and followed by the reader and finally, instill the consumer confidence in this revolutionary technology reshaping our world.
