Each chapter is divided into three sections:LEARN IT.This section of the companion provides an in-depth study of the tense. The information is presented under headings to create coherence amongst the chapters and facilitate student use of the manual.DRILL IT.This section of the companion contains relevant drills aimed at improving your knowledge of the tense studied. For the most part, the drills have been created using the notes provided in LEARN IT. It is envisaged that students will complete further drills outside of this companion to increase proficiency in the desired tense. The exercises contain both regular and irregular verbs.USE IT.This section of the companion contains a variety of activities which allow you to use the tense studied. Where possible, the activities are designed to incorporate all areas of language learning- Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Although these activities can be modified or extended to cater for individual needs, it is advised that students complete further drills outside of this companion to increase proficiency in the desired tense before attempting the activities.In Chapter 16, students are introduced to irregular infinitives in Italian. Three verbs are conjugated in all tenses for their reference.As this chapter is not the study of a specific tense, it only contains a LEARN IT. section. Students are able to practice these verbs in the DRILL IT. section of each chapter.Chapter 17 is intended to give students a brief snapshot on some of the tenses seldom taught in detail at school. Although there are examples to facilitate student understanding, there is no in-depth study of each tense and there are no DRILL IT. or USE IT. components in this chapter.
