Establishing time of deposition and the source regions contributing to sedimentary sequences is a particular challenge for Precambrian basins that typically preserve limited or no biostratigraphic control. This paper presents uranium-lead geochronological ages for detrital zircons from the Hurwitz and Kiyuk groups, two Paleoproterozoic intracratonic successions in the north-west Canadian Shield off the west coast of Hudson Bay. The data presented establish estimates for the maximum depositional age of the successions that help place their development within the broader tectonic setting of the assembly of Laurentia.
