This report (1) identifies current research on promising approaches in drug abuse prevention targeted at school-age youth; (2) describes promising drug treat. strategies for cocaine addiction; (3) assesses the effectiveness of international efforts to reduce illegal drug availability, including interdiction; (4) assesses the U.S. Coast guard's performance measures for its anti-drug activities; and (5) summarizes Federal drug prevention and treatment-related efforts.
