In 1948, Horace Logan, a young radio producer in Shreveport, LA, started booking talent for a new weekly music show called the Louisiana Hayride. The show became known as the Cradle of the StarsÓ; over the next decade the Hayride launched or built the careers of many performers who grew to become country music's greatest legends. The show brought what was once known as hillbilly musicÓ into the mainstream.
