In recent years scholars have rightly recognized the importance of Greek Old Testament pseudepigrapha for critical study of early Judaism and Christianity, including the writings of the New Testament. This extensive volume conveniently provides students and veteran scholars with all the Greek Old Testament pseudepigrapha along with English translation on facing pages. Craig Evans provides a brief introduction and basic bibliography for each of the fifty-five included texts. Some of the pseudepigraphal texts are longer, fuller forms than the earliest versions of them and include glosses and supplements added during the history of transmission. Presenting hard-to-find but very significant texts opposite their English translations, this book will assist students and scholars in searching the Greek text for words, phrases, clusters of words, and various grammatical forms as they study.
