Contained in his service record, if found, is the following: rank, if other than private; names of officers served under; name of unit; list of battles; wounded or not; if taken prisoner; and place to which he emigrated after the war; and names of children of the soldier. Also included are reference sources upon which the sketch of the soldier is based. This is the only book which gives such details about the Patriots who fought in the battle of Kings Mountain.
