The content of this book is culturally oriented. The subjects covered have been recorded and well documented over the years. An old Lakota proverb says, ?A people without a history is like wind in the buffalo grass.' People are, and should be, proud to call themselves Lakota whether they are full blood or have merely enough of a bloodline tie to be able to claim a part of this noble heritage. Heritage is a part of identity. To acquire it means to know it and to be aware of its history and culture, whether or not it is practiced to any degree.
