Description

"This novel is my effort to make imaginary sense of the historical, archaeological, and other data that The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) and others have collected over the last 29 years regarding the fate of Amelia Earhart. It's a prequel to my earlier novel, Thirteen Bones (2009) -- which imagined the events surrounding and following the documented 1940 discovery of human bones on Nikumaroro in the Phoenix Islands. Neither of my novels purports to represent the "truth" about what happened to Earhart and Noonan, but both do incorporate relevant historical and archaeological evidence, and are as consistent with that evidence as I've been able to make them while, I hope, telling a good story that honors Earhart's spirit."--Back cover.
