From his birth in South Australia's Barossa Valley, growing up in a Lutheran Family of German background, through wartime service as a pilot on Coastal Command's Liberator bombers. Harry spearheaded MAF's work in the Asia-Pacific, until his untimely death in an air crash in August 1951.
