Dakota Dreams: Women's Stories of Passion and Perseverance presents the stories of seventeen women from age fourteen to eighty, living in a variety of locations and situations, mostly in western South Dakota. As the title suggests, there are common themes throughout the book. Yet, each woman is unique and has carved out her own individual path.For some that path has been more difficult than for others. The women share the challenges they encountered along the way and how they managed to deal with them and follow their dreams. None of the women are giving advice, but rather sharing their stories honestly and openly, hoping they may inspire the reader to take steps toward reaching their dream.In order to accomplish most things, first you have to believe it is possible. It is hoped that every woman reading this book will find within it at least one woman with whom they can identify. The women in this book demonstrate that with passion and perseverance, hopes and possibilities can become realities. By sharing their stories, the women subtly invite readers to reflect on their dreams, be they big or small, and believe, as the women in this book affirm, that their dreams can become realities.
