Description

Are you one of the many editors who have decided you need to quickly learn Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve? If you are, then Rapid DaVinci Resolve was written for you. The 160-page book provides a comprehensive introduction to editing and color grading using the free version of DaVinci Resolve 15. Unlike the free version of Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve has not been crippled to force you to upgrade to the expensive version. And, while Premiere Pro CC is a fine editor, do you really want to pay Adobe every month? Rapid DaVinci Resolve presents DaVinci Resolve 15 in a manner that eliminates your need to learn the application's massively complex menu system. Using a small set of logical, mnemonic shortcut-keys, Rapid DaVinci Resolve will teach you the application's precise 3-point editing system-with a conceptual approach that makes editing efficient in the manner of Apple's FCP X. Rapid DaVinci Resolve enables you to be immediately productive with Resolve version 15. And to be productive with the beta version of Resolve 16-without having to learn a whole new way of "cutting." Fusion, Fairlight, ResolveFX, and the extra cost Studio version of Resolve are not taught by Rapid DaVinci Resolve. Why is Rapid DaVinci Resolve so much better than other Resolve books? Because the book was written by an experienced teacher. Steve Mullen Ph.D. taught digital video production at Rutgers University and Electronic Cinematography at Philadelphia's University of the Arts. Steve was a Contributing Editor for Video Systems magazine. He has written for A/V Video, Camcorder, DV, millimeter, Video Pro, and Broadcast Engineering. For BE he wrote several video production handbooks. He now writes for TheBroadcastBridge. He was a Product Marketing Manager for Data Translation-which designed the MEDIA 100 video editing system. He was also International Sales Manager for PLAY, creator of the world-famous TRINITY desktop video system. Steve has published many digital camcorder handbooks and tutorials covering the Avid Media Composer as well as Apple editing applications. He taught at the University of Minnesota and, also in Minnesota, at Carleton College. In both Boston and Tokyo, he worked at Bolt, Beranek and Newman which manufactured massively parallel real-time supercomputers. Steve now lives in Las Vegas ([email protected]).
