These writings are in part inspired by The Motorcycle Diaries. It reminded me of my childhood in Ghana, when a group of us, no more than eight or nine years old, used to fearlessly set off into the forests on our own with the intention to explore. We'd often build huts in the woods and stay overnight, setting off fire crackers and pretending to smoke cigars by unwisely inhaling the fumes from rolled up burning newspapers before coughing our lungs out or getting seared by the flames. When circumstances manifested so that I found myself in a position to be going to India, I recorded my experiences. As I started writing the short sharp notes, I found myself in more and more situations which warranted longer and longer descriptions so in the end I decided to write about my experiences in book form. Some of the experiences were so out of this world and bordering on the supernatural that the writings kept growing.
