Excerpt from Paintings and Prints by Cleveland Artists: March 16 to April 16, 1937 In determining who may be considered a Cleveland artist, we have followed the principle of including artists who have long been associated with the city and who continue to show in the annual exhibitions at the Cleveland Museum, even though they are not at the present time residents of the city. We wish to express our thanks to the staff of the Cleveland Museum of. Art, especially to its Director, Mr. William Mathewson Milliken, to Mr. Henry Sayles Francis, to Miss Louise H. Burchfield, and to Miss Leona Prasse, for their generous and efficient assistance in assembling material for the exhibition; also to Mr. Laszlo Julius Kubinyi of the Cleveland Print Market, and to Mr. Kalman Kubinyi and Mr. W. Leroy Flint of the Cleveland Print Makers, for valuable cooperation in gathering the prints; and to the Cleveland Museum of Art for the loan of works from its collection.
