Description
Treasured Memories chronicles medical memories dating from my childhood up to my retirement from nursing. It tells of Mama's home remedies, comparing them to the great strides made in the medical field. From a nurse's point of view, it includes many experiences from the day I began my career as a nurse's aid at the Bismarck Hospital in North Dakota to retirement 40 years later as an LPN in Lodi, California. It includes stories of doctors, coworkers and patients. The work was difficult but, at times, a lot of fun. My special friend and I livened up otherwise difficult and often sad days with anything but professional behavior. Every day was a learning experience from day one to retirement. I wouldn't trade those experiences for all the riches in the world. If I could live my life over, I would again choose nursing as my profession. These are my treasured memories.
