As the champion of children and youth, the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS) has developed a policy framework to provide strategic direction for ongoing improvements over the next decade. The framework applies to all Ontario children and youth up to age 18. The framework: outlines the vision for child and youth mental health in Ontario; defines a continuum of needs-based services and supports; promotes a focus on health promotion, illness prevention and earlier intervention; identifies strategic goals and priority areas for action to guide change over the next decade; provides the foundation for the development of provincial service standards, guidelines and outcome measures; and sets the stage for cross-sectoral community and government planning.--Document.
