Enduring relationships is one of few subjects that ignite such pathos, passion, and drive. Regardless of our culture, color, creed, cleverness, clout, or convictions we all want to love and be loved. We are relational beings. Yet the paradox of life is that we can't live with people and we can't live without them, because life is all about relationships. It was God who said it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). Yet we believe we can make it on our own, we find there are a great deal of people, especially men, who are alone, even if they attend church. We struggle and fight our battles alone and this was not designed by God. It is other people who help to make our lives what it is. The saying is true, "It is not what you know it is who you know." The best person to know is God. The most important relationship in our lives is the one with God. However our dilemma is that we want men and women whom God created differently to develop and maintain relationships in the same manner. We are so much into uniformity rather than unity. Unfortunately our churches which are predominately women have turned the social and spiritual structure into a feminine atmosphere and rightly so because it is female dominated. As a result this it has kept many men away because they cannot be who God created them to be and worship and serve Him based on who they are as men. Men and women are different. It is ironic, because we can only know how to relate to God as we know how to relate to each other as human beings. The apostle John made this point very clear, "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? (1 John 4:20). God has given us one another to partner with before we can really learn to partner with Him. The key then to loving God is learning to partner and love each other as males and as females. Therefore if we have problems loving and relating to our fellowmen we will have problems loving and relating to God. If we have a problem partnering with God it is because we have problems partnering with our fellowmen. This is what the Spirit has been impressing upon me lately that life is all about relationships, and most important is my partnering with God. I was painting our house on May 24, 2007 when the Spirit impressed upon me to begin writing this book Relationships 101. Here I am being obedient to the Spirit. I must admit I had some reservations that there might be other books by that name already on the market and I was tempted to search the internet to find out if such books exist. However I refrained myself and started writing. The suspense was killing me, so two days later I searched the internet and sure there were several books with a similar title, however this one deals with all relationships other than the marriage relationships. There are many books on the subject. Furthermore this book deals with relationships that will extend into eternity. What I have observed is that society and the church has subscribed to this concept, we begin to become serious about friendships when people are about to get married. We have limited relationships to marriage. This is when some couples begin seeking counseling. Others don't because they feel they are grown and they know how relationships should work. However when they encounter the tests of life within their marriage, they flunk it, and some so badly they end up divorcing or separating from their spouse. Many of the divorces are very nasty and the children are the ones left to suffer the most. Unfortunately, this information has been and is being passed down from generation to generation. This was true in my case, I did not get any counseling. I waited even longer after I was already married for a few years I started reading any book I could find on the subject of marriage. You know I have made a great deal of mistakes. This cycle m
