Jack Williams was forcibly driven from his home in Fair Oaks, California at the tender age of fourteen. During the next five years he worked as a farm hand dreaming of the day he could journey to Alaska to make his fortune in the Klondike Gold Fields at the turn of the Twentieth Century. Arriving at Skagway, Alaska, he realized he was too late for the big gold bonanza, so he sought his fortune in the lucrative Fur Trading Business. During the severe rigors of the Yukon Territory's brutal winters, he mastered his skill at dog sled handling, fur trapping and surviving the unforgiving challenges of living in the open wilderness. Later, a greater challenge faced him as he was forced to fly a bush pilot's WW 1 open cockpit, by-wing fighter plane in a life and death struggle to save his critically wounded fur trapping partner. Burdened by the awesome responsibility of saving his partner's life, the plane owner's life and his own, he experienced the horrors of flying between rugged mountain ranges which towered high above the aircraft's elevation capability during a vicious thunderstorm at night. With limited flying experience he was forced to rely on his newly found Savior, who not only cared for him, but delights in answering the prayers of His people who will trust in Him.
