This is the story of Tyrannosaurus, an infamous meat-eating predator. It lived throughout what is now western North America. Fossils are found in a variety of rock formations dating to the Maastrichtian age of the upper Cretaceous Period some 66 million years ago.More than 30 specimens of Tyrannosaurus rex have been identified, some of which are nearly complete skeletons. T. rex's bite was world's strongest dinosaur. Tyrannosaurus rex had the most powerful bite of any creature that has ever walked the Earth, say scientists. Previous estimates of the prehistoric predator's bite suggested it was much more modest - comparable to modern predators such as alligators. This measurement, based on a laser scan of a T. rex skull, showed that its bite was equivalent to three tonnes - about the weight of an elephant.Most children are fascinated with Dinosaurs.
