In December 2013 David Warr visited Coffee co-operatives in Peru and Bolivia. What he saw moved him to put into print his daily Blog and pictures of the extraordinary scenes. As a coffee roaster David was interested to see what was happening first hand to help improve the livelihoods of those who grow our coffee in light of the huge volatility in world commodity markets. He discovered Cafe Femenino in Peru, a ground breaking approach to social change. In Bolivia David saw the huge effort being made to develop Fairtrade and Organic coffee. This book is both informative and philosophical and challenges how it is that our basic commodities have been turned into financial instruments and the consequence to each and everyone of us.
