The Story of the Amulet is a children's novel by E. Nesbit, first published in 1906. It's the final chapter of a trilogy of novels. The children in the story re-encounter the Psammead-the "it" in Five Children and It. "It" no longer grants wishes to the children, but advises in the children's other discovery, the Amulet. Like a story of time travel, The Story of the Amulet is one in which "Nesbit's powers of invention are at their best.
