Description
First seen by a European in 1738, the Hidatsa hunted buffalo and grew corn. During the early 1800s their villages became popular stopping places for scientists, artists, and adventure seekers. In 1934 the Hidatsa joined with the Mandan and Arikara to become the Three Affiliated Tribes.
