Description
Measuring things is not difficult. We have rulers, yardsticks, tapes, scales, and a numbering system. Measuring events, human actions, ideas is another matter entirely, and history records how men have attempted to do so. Socrates, for one, stated positively, "The unmeasured life is not worth living." The Measure of All Things asks a reader to reflect on this statement. It helps guide the reader, pointing out how Socrates saw examining life involves considering deeply living a life of Virtue. This consideration leads to the realization that Vice exists along with Virtue. The Measure of All Things is intended to bring a reader to a better understanding of the reality of the coexistence of good and evil, an understanding that a religious faith explains the seeming paradox of this coexistence.
