谷麗萍不僅與薄熙來的老婆谷開來同出於一個姓氏，同一個大學，同一專業，得了同一種病，而且都有相同的愛好——錢。不過，谷麗萍顯然更技高一籌。

習近平上台前後，中共高層經歷了驚心動魄的權力惡鬥。“新四人幫”中，死亡之劍已經對三個人的家人親友一揮而下，他們是：薄熙來的妻子薄谷開來的生意夥伴、英國商人尼爾•海伍德，被毒死；令計劃的兒子令谷，車禍身亡；以及周永康的前妻王淑華被車撞死。這是巧合呢，還是宿命？以致有人說：《中國權貴的死亡遊戲》（何頻、黃聞光，明鏡出版社，2013年4月出版中英文版）這個書名果然起得貼切，可不就是“死亡遊戲”？

《中國權貴的死亡遊戲》預言：“令計劃在胡錦濤退休後可能會被起訴”。出版之日，半信半疑者居多； 幾年之後的今天來看，他與谷麗萍的下場，恐怕要嚴重得多！
