This book is written for those who are seeking emotional and social intimacy after experiencing dissolution or loss of first relationships. It addresses issues that arise for those who have not been in the world of meeting people, dating, and the social venues, and how identify and cope with unfamiliarity, fears, anxiety, and a general lack of the skills required to find and succeed in the process. Among the issues covered are feelings about self, reactions to loss and/or rejection, legal complications, family and cultural pressures, lifestyle preferences, and or other manifestations of relationship trauma. They are told through stories of people with whom we have worked as therapists, and our own personal experiences. The book provides encouragement to recognize, accept one's needs, and introduces the needed skills to cope successfully.
