Description

Running from the Amish ways and values of how she was raised, Katie wanted to be like the English women she had seen in the town when she would go to hear the music that would come from the stores and homes of others. She would carry the music back in her thoughts for several days. Meeting an English man while walking to her best friend's house one afternoon changed the whole course of her life. Having to choose between the English man and the Amish man that her dad had picked out for her causes Katie to do the unthinkable. Going against everything and everyone of the Amish, including her best friend, Emily, Katie would dream day and night about becoming English, even if it meant that she would be shunned from the ones she loved. Coming to a place in her life where she needed family the most, leaving her in doubt of ever getting it back again, brought fear and pain to her inner being.
