For whatever reason, I experience periods in life where I feel compelled to express thoughts in writing. Generally, these writings are only for me - although I have shared some ponderings with friends. At other times, when, on short notice I have been asked to speak at an event, I have pulled content from my writings to deliver a presentation. Occasionally people suggest that I compile my writings into a book and make it available. Of course, from my perspective, there are so many excellent writers that I never saw much value in creating my own book. However, recently I was on a flight coming back from vacation. I engaged in a conversation with a young lady who was an entrepreneur with a very interesting business. After a time, I went back to watching video content on the flight. Then the woman interrupted me and asked me to read a short children's story she had just written. It was interesting and I reciprocated by sharing my story, Ah Venice. She was so moved by my reflection on my trip to Venice, Italy, that she convinced me that I should compile a book. So - here it is.I would like to say there is order and reason to how these musings are presented. However, it just isn't so. I write about what's on my mind at any given time. And, since these writings span a 12-year window of my life, my own understanding and perspective on things certainly shifted over that time frame. It is my hope that perhaps you will consider something for the first time. Or, perhaps you will reconsider something you already thought through. The beauty of our faith journey is that the Spirit continues to reveal deeper truths to us throughout our lives. At the end of the day, I pray that this book will simply make you cogitate about various issues in your life and faith journey.
