It's the Lewis and Clark Trail, Native Americans, small-town USA, and the stories of the common folk that captures his attention. On this journey, tiring and with dimming eyesight, John waves a white flag and is joined by his wife half way across the country in South Dakota. With doubt and enthusiasm, they forge ahead through the fall of 2017 as early snows hit the Rockies and the far west erupts in wildfire.
