radical contentment is a poetry chapbook by Romeo Romero exploring what it means to embrace contentment as a way of being in a world that is as full of as much injustice is it is beauty. After spending many years in movements for justice, they noticed that their body and spirit had become accustomed to suffering, anger, and discontentment with the world. There is this idea that our anger fuels our movements and we must stay angry and not numb ourselves to the cruelty of the world. This book provides an alternative point of view: that contentment is an option separate from numbness, and that to allow ourselves to experience acceptance and satiation is also a radical act.
