This is the story of Kivi (Eduard) Kornfeld, a Holocaust survivor, who as a teenager lived through the hell of Auschwitz and other concentration camps and survived against all odds. His story is heavily intertwined with that of his cousin Hindi (Hermina) Wessely. The two were among the only survivors of their large family. But why write another book about the Holocaust? The answer is simple and straightforward: In times and places where survival is not the rule, but the remote exception, the story of survival is bound to be exceptional.
