Developments within the EU and its imminent expansion from 15 to 25 states, as well as the reforms to reflect that expansion, and proposals for a European Constitution, are also covered. This edition has been restructured to facilitate the rapidly developing law under the Human Rights Act. There are now separate chapters on: Freedom from Discrimination; Freedom of Expression; Freedom of Assembly and Association; and the Organization and Powers of the Police (both of which have been substantially reformed by legislation). Recent developments and new discernable trends in the Judicial approach to the Human Rights Act are discussed. The significant reforms introduced to asylum and immigration by the Nationality Asylum and Immigration Act 2002 are also included."
