Description

The first complete summary of information on undergraduate and graduate athletic coaching majors and minors, including contact details and essential references. There is a tremendous need for quality coaching education programs. These needs are being recognised and more states are beginning to require that interscholastic coaches complete coaching education programs. The primary goal of this directory is to provide a list of colleges and universities in the United States that offer coaching education programs. It should serve as a guide to students interested in the coaching profession; high school guidance counsellors and parents advising perspective students; faculty involved in researching and developing coaching education programs; and individuals and organisations involved in coaching education. Each entry includes the available program descriptions, course offerings, practica and internships, websites, and key contact people for 158 undergraduate programs and 21 graduate programs in the field. The appendices offer the reader the opportunity to review programs by state or by program requirements ,such as field experience and important information about accreditation and certification.
