Description
Youth Alive! is a private nonprofit agency dedicated to preventing violence and generating youth leadership in California communities. They recruit, train, and employ youth from violent neighborhoods to become "urban messengers" -- to reach out, educate, and intervene with other students before violence happens.Teens on Target is a six-session curriculum designed to be facilitated by peer educators or teachers within middle or high school classrooms. User friendly, step-by-step activities help students identify causes of violence, and things they can do to prevent violence. Also included are vibrant color photos of young people, which represent the curriculum's "characters, " youth-developed handouts, and a resource guide listing related videos and web sites.
