A photograph is far more than a frozen moment in time, it captures many feelings and memories, many that even the photographer won't ever see.We all treasure certain times and events for very personal reasons, often in our minds, being able to travel back to the very moment that the photograph was taken.Memories are our escape from life's troubles, a photograph so often enables us to revisit a past moment, be it happy or sad, quite recent or even many generations ago.A good photograph may be anything that the photographer or the viewer finds joy in, there may be a set of guidelines for what will make a good portrait or landscape photo, but unless it captures exactly what was envisaged, then it is merely a photograph, as with all things, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.Poetry is very similar, it is an expression of feelings, be they happy or sad at that moment the poem was written. We each read a poem differently and often emphasize certain words that we ourselves connect with.Words or a photograph that can bring joy to one, may bring tears to another.I believe that poetry and photography go hand in hand, words and images paint a picture to express a moment in time that the reader, writer, photographer has an intimate connection with.Photography and poetry are my way of expressing how I feel, I have no intention of giving either up.
