Benoît XVI a été mal compris par beaucoup et, en 2013, il a étonné le monde en démissionnant de la papauté. Beaucoup ont vu dans ce geste comme un signe du déclin du catholicisme, mais c'était le contraire : c'était une graine nécessaire pour ouvrir l'Église à une dimension vraiment universelle et au renouvellement entrepris par son successeur. Ce livre est préfacé par le pape François et contient le premier entretien de Benoît XVI depuis la fin de son pontificat.
