Description
Saturé de sa mère et de sa névrose, Luc quitte la Gaspésie, prend le chemin de Montréal et aboutit au Faubourg. La vie s'ouvre à lui. Il se trouve un emploi et rencontre Érika sur son chemin. Celle-ci délaissée par les siens, violée en bas âge par son oncle, se prostitue pour acheter sa came. Apprivoisée par Luc qui lui donne espoir, elle reprend goût à la vie. Trompée par son "pusher", c'est l'"overdose" et l'hôpital. Luc la retrouve et la soutient. Pour Érika couchée dans son lit blanc, tout s'achève, elle a le sida. Luc l'accompagne dans son dernier combat et fait ce qu'il lui a promis: "Continuer... aller de l'avant". -- La trame est très simple et les jeunes s'identifieront sans problèmes aux personnages. Ceux-ci sont bien campés et contrastants: Luc, plein d'espoir, Érika, brisée. Elle se raccroche, mais trop tard. Sans être moralisateur, ce récit prenant, voisin du mélo, se veut tonique et présente des réflexions positives face à la vie et à ses déboires. [SDM].
