Les études de ces processus de transition peuvent-elles avoir quelque rapport avec celles qui concernent le processus de développement ? Les textes rassemblés dans ce Cahier sont riches, mais aussi hétérogènes. Ils mettent en lumière un processus très complexe qui est celui de la « transition » des économies socialistes à des economies dominées par le marché. Ce processus est loin d’être terminé, il est lui-même hétérogène et diversifié et encore très mal connu. L’avenir de ces pays demeure affecté de multiples incertitudes.
