The Directory of European Research and Development includes more than 20,000 organizations, from large multinationals to small, fast emerging operations at the cutting edge of current research. Each site or department of an organization that has its own address is listed as a separate entry where R&D activity is conducted on that site. The organizations are classified by one of five key areas: Business Enterprises Higher Education and Hospitals Government Institutes Consultancies Charities/Non-Profit-Organizations Entries can be found using several indexes, including a Field of Research index comprising over 650 categories. Researchers, heads of research, professors etc. are listed provided they are involved in fully financed research projects lasting for a minimum of twelve months.
