Este libro contempla las construcciones con verbo soporte (CVS) en el español contemporáneo, considerando cuestiones concernientes a la estructura y el nivel estilístico del empleo de las CVS, además del relativo nivel de equivalencia (estructural y semántica) que dichas construcciones en español tienen con construcciones afines en inglés y alemán. Como fuente de datos el trabajo utiliza un corpus de lenguaje académico escrito de aproximadamente 21 millones de palabras creado para tal efecto, sobre el cual se identifican las CVS más comunes para las áreas de estudio de las ciencias sociales y las humanidades. Con fines de uso didáctico, concluye con la propuesta de un modelo de entrada lexicográfica para las CVS.
