Dieses Buch führt in die beiden Gesetze ein, die das schweizerische Jugendstrafrecht regeln: Das Jugendstrafgesetz (JStG), in Kraft seit 2007, definiert die für Jugendliche anwendbaren Strafen und Schutzmassnahmen sowie deren Vollzug. Die seit 2011 geltende Jugendstrafprozessordnung (JStPO) umschreibt, wie die Strafuntersuchung und die Beurteilung durchgeführt werden. Einleitend werden Grundlagen erarbeitet, zur Jugendkriminalität und insbesondere zur Jugendgewalt und deren Prävention. Einbezogen werden psychologische, psychiatrische, soziologische und sozialpädagogische Erkenntnisse. Damit werden Angehörige aller am Jugendstrafrecht beteiligten Fachrichtungen angesprochen. Denn das angestrebte Ziel, straffälligen Jugendlichen Grenzen zu setzen und zugleich Orientierungshilfen zu vermitteln, kann nur mit einem interdisziplinären Vorgehen gelingen.
