El médico forense ocupa un lugar primordial en el desarrollo de muchas de las pesquisas legales que se llevan a cabo hoy en día. Con la finalidad de recuperar las importantes aportaciones a esta rama de la ciencia que se han hecho desde Latinoamérica, Rafael Moreno realiza una investigación sobre los médicos forenses de esta región que han dejado escrito un relevante legado para el desarrollo de esta disciplina, y recopila una selección —que nunca podrá ser exhaustiva— de algunos fragmentos de las obras más representativas sobre el tema. En definitiva, esta obra nos ofrece una muestra del importante desarrollo que ha tenido el pensamiento forense en nuestra región, esencial para quien busca comprender los principios que rigen a esta disciplina.
