Estrategias de asociación para la inversión: el desarrollo del sistema financiero en San Luis Potosí entre 1850 y 1900 busca exponer las fibras delgadas de un tejido financiero elaborado en la entidad potosina durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX con el propósito de explicar dos procesos simultáneos y estrechamente vinculados; por un lado, la dinámica del mercado de crédito local y los antecedentes históricos de la formación de instituciones financieras formales para el manejo de crédito en el estado entre 1850 y 1900; por otro, determinar las características de lo que se podría definir como el reforzamiento de una élite financiera en el transcurso del periodo analizado.
