       有別於第一代的書店，重生後的莎士比亞書店精神信念不變，歷史名人的光環加身，宛如華麗與污痕書店，在這古老書店內遇到的不僅僅是一群異想天開、成天發夢當作家的流浪文青，還有個脾氣時好時壞、相貌像愛因斯坦的老喬治，以及會對你眨眼的黑貓……

貧窮失業的加拿大記者傑若米．莫爾瑟有一天徘徊於巴黎左岸，因緣際會來到一家叫做莎士比亞的小書店買了一本書，被店員熱情地邀請他參加茶會。後來，得知書店老闆喬治．惠特曼是城裡潦倒作家的守護神。旅居巴黎期間，正當他阮囊羞澀、窮愁潦倒之際，想到了這間傳聞中的書店，便硬著頭皮試試運氣，意外取得這位性格奇特的書店老闆的信任，沒多久就住進書店。一邊在店裡幫忙一邊寫作，同時也沉浸於談情說愛、廉價酒吧中。

作者所遇到形形色色的人事物，彷彿荒腔走板的人生經歷，生猛地重現在眼前。在那文學兔窩裡，不得不承認，波西米亞般的不羈生活讓人越夜越瘋狂……
