本书以认知语言学、语言类型学及过程哲学观的相关认识为理论前提，对语言学文献中“事件”和“事态”这两个多频术语的概念内涵进行重新审视并提出新的定义，在动态事件观的基础上建立事件过程结构模式，并在该模式的基础上探讨汉语过程动词的事态结构、时体（aspect）跟事态（state of event）的关系、事态的量度以及动词的空间位置属性。本书在对汉语和英语进行对比的过程中着重揭示汉语上述各领域的个性特征。(This book regards the cognitive linguistics, linguistic typology and related knowledge of process philosophy as the theoretical premise, and reviews and redefines the concept connotation of the two multifrequency terms of “event” and “state of event” in linguistic literature. Based on the dynamic event view, it establishes an event process structure pattern and explores the state of event structure of Chinese process verbs, relation between aspect and state of event, measurement of state of event and spatial position attrition verbs based on that pattern. In the process of comparing Chinese and English, this book focuses on revealing the personality characteristics of the above-mentioned areas of Chinese.)
