近代中日两国的交流最早始于19世纪60年代。1862年，德川幕府派遣“千岁丸”号赴上海考察，开启了日本人赴中国旅行的新时代。自明治时代、大正时代一直到昭和前期（本课题的研究下限是1945年）为止，大批的日本人怀着各种目的涌入中国，并以游记的方式记录下了自己的所见所闻所感。(The earliest exchanges between China and Japan began in the 1860s. In 1862, Tokugawa Shogunate sent “Qiansuiwan” to investigate Shanghai, which opened a new era of Japanese traveling to China. Since the Meiji Period, Taisho Period until the early Showa(the lower limit of this subject is 1945), a large number of Japanese had flocked to China with a variety of purposes and recorded what they had seen and heard in the way of travel notes.)
