《响铜记》主要内容包括：《耕织图》的尴尬；新戏单的趣味；民间艺术，文人趣味；扉页应当美一点；挂图里的“除四害”；偶然遗留下来的生活细节等。《响铜记》以飞镲为背景，其中一层故事就是讲这项传统文化的回归，在回归过程中，曾有人为了利益将表演飞镲用的响铜镲更换成合金镲而使飞镲表演失去了本真，响铜镲在这个故事中就是镲儿塘的灵魂。
